The Tiles and the Shape
By the end of today you'll be able to name any tile on sight, and build a pair, a chow and a pung without help.
What we cover
- The 144 tiles — three suits, winds, dragons, and the bonus tiles
- The three sets: pair, chow, pung
- The winning shape: 4 sets + 1 pair
- Kong — named at the very end, taught tomorrow
The anchor

This is the entire objective of the game. Everything else builds on it.

We won't touch the wall, dealing, discarding, the calls, rotation, or scoring today. Those come tomorrow. Today is only about knowing what you're holding.
