Indian Play
What "Indian play" means
Today isn't a new game. It's the same game you learned on Day 2 — wall, deal, draw, discard, four sets and a pair — with the Indian additions on top. Passport is available as a winning hand, and we play a Goulash when a hand washes out.
How today runs
- We start with a guided Goulash, to make the exchange stick
- Then free play — you play, we referee
- Certificates, standings and photos at the end
The tally
| Result | Points |
|---|---|
| Mahjong won | 1 |
| Won with a Passport | 2 |
| Won a Goulash | 2 |
The only counting we do all week — just enough to name a winner and open the club standings.
You're Club-ready
Four days, and this is everything a table needs from you. Nobody's holding anything back:
- Name every tile on sight, and build a pair, chow, pung or kong without thinking
- Build the wall, deal, and handle Flowers and Seasons
- Run the full loop — draw, discard, call, and know Mahjong beats Pung beats Chow
- Tell concealed from melded, and follow rotation round the table
- Play a Passport and a Goulash, exchange included
- Keep the tally — the same one the Club will use, once it opens
What happens next
The Club is next — we'll announce it once the first cohorts are through, meeting once a week to start. Same people, same table, same tally, and by the third or fourth week you'll be playing without thinking about it. Real scoring, special hands and Goulash strategy wait for the Advanced Workshop, further out still. See the full path →
